Utility Steward

Help Keep Our Kitchen Clean, Safe, and Organized

Join our Food and Beverage team as a Utility Steward and play an important role in keeping our kitchen operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dishware, and back-of-house work areas while helping ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for the culinary team.

Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Weekend availability is required, and holiday availability may be required depending on operational needs. This is a safety-sensitive position. 

Essential Functions:

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, supplies, pots/pans, small wares, china, glass, and silver according to established safety standards and regulations.
• Operate dishwasher and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Cleans kitchen floors following standard procedures.
• Applies knowledge of safe use and storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Maintains and records data on required logs per company policies and procedures.
• Completes daily and weekly cleaning assignments per task lists.
• Regularly empties trash containers; shifts and cleans garbage cans; properly operates compactor.
• Minimizes loss and breakage through proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner and on a schedule determined by kitchen and dining operations.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required:

• Able to understand, retain and apply basic instructions to perform routine tasks with limited supervision.
• Able to read and interpret work-related documents, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labels.
• Able to perform strenuous physical labor, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Reliable, predictable, and punctual, to provide timely service to internal and external customers and to support uninterrupted business operations.

Preferred:

• 1 year experience.
• Sanitation Certificate.
• Shifts vary, flexibility in scheduling preferred.

The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions.
