Following Titan Wealth’s acquisition of Innes Reid, we are seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join the Chester office and play a key role in the next chapter of the firm’s growth.

Established for over 26 years, Innes Reid has built an outstanding reputation within the financial planning market through entirely organic growth. The business employs around 30 people, including 10 Financial Planners, and generates between 40 and 60 client enquiries every month through its strong reputation and referral network.

The firm takes a selective approach to client onboarding, focusing on building long-term relationships with individuals and families who value high-quality financial advice. Its client base primarily consists of professionals, business owners, self-employed individuals and retirees seeking trusted, holistic financial planning support.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of an established client portfolio built personally by one of Innes Reid’s founding Directors, as he gradually reduces his client-facing responsibilities.

The successful Financial Planner will inherit approximately:

  • 200–230 established client households
  • £450k+ in recurring annual revenue
  • Significant assets under management
  • Long-standing, loyal client relationships
  • Continued access to quality new enquiries and referrals

Having built these relationships from the ground up, finding the right person to take them forward is incredibly important. We are therefore looking for a highly experienced Financial Planner with several years of regulated advice experience who is Chartered, or close to achieving Chartered status, with the credibility and relationship-management skills to confidently take ownership of an established client bank.

For the right person, this offers the best of both worlds: a mature, revenue-generating client portfolio from day one, alongside genuine opportunity to develop and grow the book further.

Location & Support

This role is based from the Innes Reid Chester office, with flexibility around home working. However, regular office presence is an important part of the role due to the relationship-led nature of the business.

Many clients choose to meet their Financial Planner in person at the Chester office, and the successful individual will also work closely with an established on-site support team, including dedicated administration and paraplanning support.

Candidates will therefore need to be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the Chester office and comfortable being in the office regularly for client meetings, collaboration with the wider team and to support a smooth handover of the existing client relationships.

On-site and nearby parking is available.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering holistic financial planning advice and managing long-term client relationships across a broad range of financial planning needs, including:

  • Retirement Planning
  • Investment Advice
  • Pension Planning
  • Estate Planning
  • Protection Planning
  • Intergenerational Wealth Planning
  • You will work closely with a highly experienced support team and be backed by dedicated administration and paraplanning support, enabling you to focus on client outcomes and relationship management.

    About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced Financial Planners who combine strong technical capability with excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills.

    You’ll ideally demonstrate:

  • Several years’ experience as a Financial Planner / Financial Adviser
  • Chartered Financial Planner, or within a couple of examinations of achieving Chartered status
  • Experience managing and developing a substantial existing client portfolio
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • A genuinely client-centric, holistic approach to financial planning
  • A stable and consistent career history
  • Professionalism, warmth and credibility when engaging with clients
  • The ability to quickly build trust and establish long-term client relationships
  • The experience and confidence to take ownership of long-standing client relationships as part of a considered handover
  • Given the nature of this opportunity, experience and relationship management are particularly important. You’ll be inheriting client relationships that have been built and nurtured over many years, so we are looking for someone with the credibility, experience and interpersonal skills to ensure a seamless transition for clients.

On-site and nearby parking available   Due to the nature of the client base and team culture, advisers are expected to maintain a strong office presence and actively engage with colleagues and clients. This is a hybrid working role - 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
