Distant Moon — Future Opportunities
Don’t see the right opening? We’d still like to know you.
Great collaborators don’t always arrive when a position opens. If you’re drawn to Distant Moon’s work and believe you could contribute, we invite you to introduce yourself.
Whether your strengths are in directing, producing, cinematography, editing, sound, design, production support, or the operations that make filmmaking possible, we want to see what you do well and hear why you’d like to do it here.
What Interests Us
- Your craft. Show us work you’re proud of and tell us what you contributed.
- Your perspective. Share the experience, ideas, or capabilities you could bring to our team.
- Your interest in Distant Moon. Tell us what connects you to our work and why you want to be part of it.
- Your next chapter. Let us know the kind of work you’d like to pursue and whether you’re interested in employment, freelance projects, or either.
Introduce Yourself
Please include:
- Your resume, highlighting relevant experience.
- Your portfolio, reel, or work samples, with a brief explanation of your contribution. If your work isn’t visual or is confidential, share relevant examples or describe projects you’ve supported.
- A short note about why you want to work at Distant Moon. We’d rather hear your own thoughtful answer than a formal cover letter.
What Happens Next
This is an ongoing invitation to connect with us, rather than an advertised vacancy. We may not have a matching opportunity today, but your introduction helps us discover people we could work with as our team and projects evolve.
We’ll keep your information on file and may reach out when an opportunity aligns with your skills and interests. We can’t promise an interview or an individual response to every submission, but we welcome the chance to learn about your work.
About Distant Moon
Distant Moon creates films and media designed to move audiences, challenge ideas, and engage deeper questions about culture, meaning, and human flourishing. Our work spans documentary, commercial, educational, and narrative storytelling across a wide range of mission-driven clients and partners.
Our clients include Christian organizations and conservative institutions, and some projects communicate explicitly Christian beliefs or conservative perspectives. We welcome collaborators who can thoughtfully and professionally serve these projects; personal agreement with every viewpoint presented is not required.
We value people who work collaboratively, communicate well, and take pride in producing polished, emotionally grounded work.
Working With Us
Our purpose-built creative studio is located in Leesburg, Virginia. Staff positions generally involve working in person, and some roles require travel or on-location production work. Freelance arrangements vary by project.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of a role.
