Position Overview

Achieve Behavioral Health is seeking motivated and dedicated Psychology Postdoctoral Fellows to join our clinical team. This position offers doctoral-level psychology graduates the opportunity to gain supervised clinical experience toward New York State psychologist licensure while providing high-quality mental health services to a diverse outpatient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and/or adults, based on clinical experience and assigned caseload.
• Conduct clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
• Participate in weekly individual and group clinical supervision.
• Collaborate with supervisors, clinical leadership, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate client care.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and appropriate risk assessment and management.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, colleagues, and referral sources.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and demonstrate openness to supervisory feedback.
  
  

Qualifications

• Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
• Eligibility for or possession of a New York State Limited Permit in Psychology.
• Strong clinical assessment, case conceptualization, and psychotherapy skills.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Ability to work independently while appropriately utilizing clinical supervision.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and collaborative care.
  

Employment Opportunities and Compensation

Achieve offers three postdoctoral employment tracks:

• Progressive Caseload Track: Full-time salaried position beginning with an assigned caseload of 25 clients per week and an annual salary of $65,000, with opportunities for gradual caseload growth and annual salary increases.
• Accelerated Caseload Track: Full-time salaried position with an assigned caseload of 33 clients per week and a starting annual salary of $85,800. Candidates interested in this track initially begin in the Progressive Caseload Track and are evaluated for transition to the Accelerated Track after establishing a caseload of 25 clients.
• Fee-for-Service Track: Flexible employment arrangement compensated at $80 per completed clinical session, with a minimum assigned caseload of 12 clients.

Final track assignments are determined by Achieve administration in consultation with the applicant, considering clinical experience, readiness, applicant preferences, position availability, and organizational needs.

All full time Achieve employees are eligible for health and dental benefits, as well as paid time off and sick leave.

Supervision and Schedule

• One hour of individual supervision and one hour of group supervision weekly.
• Full-time salaried positions are based on a 37.5-hour workweek.
• Full-time positions require two evenings or equivalent weekend hours.
• Part-time fee-for-service opportunities are available.
