What we’re looking for

  

The Maintenance Engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility.

 

How you’ll contribute 

 

A Maintenance Engineer who excels in this role:

• Install, test, maintain, operate and repair machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.

• Perform major and minor maintenance work.

• Perform utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.

• Assist with inspection, testing, and maintenance of all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment, building systems, and utility systems as assigned.

• Move items within/between locations and from/to storage.

• Assemble and relocates furniture.

• Perform other job duties as assigned.

 

Requirements And Qualifications:

• High School diploma or the equivalent.

• Two years institutional/commercial maintenance experience required

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and/or electronic systems required

• Required Skills

• Licenses: Michigan Driver’s License required 

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM -4:00 PM with 1 week on call rotation
