About Adventurer Manufacturing

Since 1969, we've been more than just a manufacturer; we're passionate adventurers who live the outdoor lifestyle. Rooted in our history and learnings, we're pioneering a new direction focused on simplifying the customer experience to maximize their experience outdoors. Simple isn’t easy - it pushes us to think creatively and find solutions beyond conventional bounds. If you thrive on complex challenges and aren’t afraid to tackle the toughest routes, we'd love to hear from you.

Overview:

As we take our business into the next 50 years, we have identified the need to expand our Manufacturing Engineering Team to drive our customer experience through improved process, design planning and product accuracy.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through BOM management, material optimizations, cut list creation and CNC programming. This is a hands-on role that will have direct impact on our Product Development and Manufacturing processes.

Manufacturing Engineer | Production Line 1 - Adventurer & Overlander Campers

Role Purpose

Own the manufacturing system for Production Line 1, supporting both Adventurer truck campers and Overlander motorhomes with emphasis on flow, efficiency, repeatability, quality, tooling, and launch readiness.

What You Own

  • Production Line 1 layout, flow, capacity, workstation design, and process architecture.
  • Fixtures, tooling, jigs, process controls, and error-proofing.
  • Manufacturing process capability, repeatability, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing engineering readiness for Adventurer and Overlander NPI.
  • Automation opportunities and technical manufacturing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve line balance, cycle time, labor utilization, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
  • Design/develop fixtures, tooling, templates, gauges, and mistake-proofing solutions.
  • Establish repeatable processes and support clear work instructions and process controls.
  • Develop and maintain electrical architectures, schematics, harness designs, specifications, and design standards.
  • Lead manufacturing root-cause work on recurring defects, rework, and throughput constraints.
  • Partner with Product Engineering on DFM/DFA and design changes that improve production.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new products, model changes, and major process changes.
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate automation and capital-equipment improvements.

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

  • Product Engineers - Adventurer and Overlander on DFM, NPI, design changes, and production issues.
  • Quality on PFMEA/control plans, process validation, defect reduction, and corrective actions.
  • Production leadership on execution, training needs, constraints, and improvement priorities.
  • Supply Chain and Facilities as required for material flow, equipment, and supplier/process changes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or related discipline; equivalent directly relevant experience considered.
  • Hands-on experience improving manufacturing processes in a production environment.
  • Previous experience in wiring schematics, harness design, DC power systems, batteries, charging, protection, grounding, and electrical troubleshooting, preferred
  • Strong capability in fixtures/tooling, process design, root cause, standard work, DFM/DFA, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfort spending significant time on the production floor and directly implementing improvements.
  • Typically 7+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, ideally in automotive, RV, transportation, aerospace, industrial equipment, or high-mix assembly.
  • Demonstrated ownership of production-line design, launches, fixtures/tooling, and measurable productivity/quality improvements.

What Success Looks Like

  • Line 1 safely hits production requirements with improving labor efficiency and predictable flow.
  • Fixtures and processes reduce variation, rework, and dependence on tribal knowledge.
  • New products launch into production with minimal disruption and clear process readiness.
  • Electrical architecture becomes standardized, documented, and scalable across brands.
  • Manufacturing issues are solved at root cause rather than repeatedly worked around.
  • Automation and capital projects produce measurable operational value.

Operating principle: Own the process and make the right way to build the product the easiest, most repeatable way.
