JOB SUMMARY

Marriott International is building the next generation of global creative leadership for Marriott Bonvoy and its portfolio of more than 30 brands. The Vice President, Global Brand, Creative, and Experiences will translate the company’s enterprise creative vision into distinctive, culturally resonant brand expression across campaigns, content, design, digital platforms, physical environments, partnerships, and experiences.

This leader will set a high creative standard and guide work from strategy through execution, ensuring every expression is unmistakably Marriott Bonvoy, relevant to its audience, and strong enough to travel across markets without losing local meaning. The role brings together brand stewardship, integrated creative development, and experience design to create a more connected customer journey and build long-term brand affinity.

The Vice President will lead the continued evolution and day-to-day creative performance of Global Creative while orchestrating a flexible network of external agencies, production partners, creators, and specialists. They will establish modern ways of working that improve clarity, speed, craft, and accountability, using data, AI, and emerging technology to expand creative possibility rather than standardize the work.

As a senior leader within Global Creative, this role will partner closely with Brand, Integrated Marketing, Social and Editorial, Digital, Loyalty, Partnerships, Communications, regional and continent teams, and other enterprise functions. The ideal candidate combines exceptional taste and cultural fluency with the operating discipline required to deliver world-class work at global scale.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
Required
•    Four-year degree from an accredited university in design, creative, marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
•    12 or more years of progressive creative leadership experience across global brands, world-class agencies, in-house creative organizations, or culture-driven businesses.
•    Significant experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and senior creative talent across design, art direction, copy, content, film, digital, and experiential work.
•    Proven track record building global brands and delivering recognized, high-impact creative across multiple markets, audiences, languages, and cultural contexts.
•    Experience leading integrated campaigns and brand experiences from strategic definition through production, launch, adaptation, and optimization.
•    Demonstrated success managing complex agency and production ecosystems, significant budgets, competing priorities, and executive-level stakeholders.

Leadership Capabilities
•    Exceptional creative judgment and a clear point of view on brand, design, storytelling, culture, hospitality, and experience.
•    Ability to move fluently between enterprise strategy, creative direction, organizational design, and the details that determine the quality of the work.
•    Deep understanding of how global brands create consistency without sameness and how ideas can be adapted locally without becoming diluted.
•    Strong working knowledge of social, digital, editorial, commerce, experiential, and emerging platforms, with an instinct for platform-native ideas.
•    Experience using research, cultural intelligence, performance data, and customer insight to sharpen creative decisions without allowing data to replace judgment.
•    Practical fluency in generative AI, emerging creative technologies, and evolving production models, including their opportunities, limitations, and governance needs.
•    A generous and demanding people leader who attracts exceptional talent, gives clear feedback, builds trust, and creates the conditions for ambitious work.
•    Executive presence and influence, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders, make decisions in ambiguity, and advocate persuasively for creative excellence.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Global Brand Creative Leadership
•    Translate the Managing Vice President’s enterprise creative vision into clear creative direction, priorities, standards, and programs across Marriott Bonvoy and the broader brand portfolio.
•    Shape how brand strategy becomes visible, verbal, emotional, and experiential, ensuring the work is distinctive at a glance and coherent over time.
•    Lead senior-level creative reviews and raise the quality of concepts, design systems, writing, casting, photography, film, sound, environments, and emerging formats.
•    Define the non-negotiable elements of global brand expression while creating room for regional relevance, cultural nuance, and local creative ambition.
•    Advocate for ideas with the power to shape culture and strengthen Marriott Bonvoy’s position as an iconic global lifestyle and travel brand.

•    Establish an experience-design approach that considers the entire customer journey and brings the brand to life through useful, memorable, and shareable interactions.
•    Partner with brand and business leaders to identify the moments where creative and experience can create disproportionate customer and commercial impact.
•    Ensure customer accessibility, inclusion, cultural intelligence, and global usability are considered from the beginning of the creative process.

Global Creative and Partner Ecosystem
•    Lead the continued evolution and creative performance of Global Creative as a modern, globally connected in-house agency.
•    Clarify the agency’s mandate, capability model, intake and prioritization process, quality standards, and relationship with internal clients and regional teams.
•    Determine when work is best led internally, externally, or through a hybrid model, assembling the strongest team for each assignment.
•    Build productive relationships with external agencies, production companies, directors, photographers, designers, artists, technologists, and experience partners.
•    Set clear expectations, give decisive creative direction, and hold partners accountable for the originality, craft, effectiveness, timing, and value of their work.

Global Systems and Scalable Excellence
•    Develop modern creative standards, principles, playbooks, and modular systems that improve quality and consistency without flattening the work.
•    Create mechanisms for early global and regional collaboration so market needs and cultural insight shape ideas before production begins.
•    Design adaptable frameworks that allow global ideas to scale efficiently across brands, markets, channels, formats, and customer segments.
•    Build feedback and learning loops that capture what works, share creative intelligence across the organization, and continuously improve the system.

Innovation AI and Emerging Capabilities
•    Champion thoughtful experimentation with AI, real-time production, spatial and immersive media, personalization, and other emerging creative capabilities.
•    Identify high-value use cases that expand ideation, prototyping, versioning, localization, and production efficiency while preserving authorship and craft.
•    Partner with Digital, Technology, Legal, Privacy, and other stakeholders to develop responsible practices for new tools and production methods.
•    Build team fluency through pilots, training, partnerships, and practical application, turning innovation into a repeatable creative advantage.

Creative Operations and Business Impact
•    Own planning, resourcing, scopes, budgets, timelines, and delivery standards for the work within the role’s portfolio.
•    Partner with Creative Operations to create transparent workflows and governance that accelerate decisions, surface risk early, and protect time for craft.
•    Define success measures with business and channel partners, balancing brand-building outcomes, audience response, creative quality, and operational performance.
•    Use results, research, and post-launch learning to improve future creative while protecting space for bold ideas that cannot be optimized into existence.
•    Communicate priorities, progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

People Leadership and Organizational Culture
•    Build, lead, coach, and retain an inclusive, high-performing global creative team with clear roles, expectations, development plans, and succession pathways.
•    Create a culture of candor, curiosity, experimentation, accountability, and respect in which ambitious ideas can be debated and improved.
•    Set a consistent standard for feedback and creative review that is direct, constructive, timely, and grounded in the brief and customer.
•    Identify capability gaps and develop hiring, freelance, agency, and learning strategies to meet the organization’s future needs.
•    Model Marriott’s values and leadership expectations while championing creativity as a measurable competitive advantage for the enterprise.

Enterprise Partnership
•    Serve as a trusted senior creative partner to leaders across Global Brand and Marketing and the broader enterprise.
•    Collaborate closely with Social and Editorial, Global Casting and Talent, Integrated Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, Partnerships, Communications, continent teams, and other functions to deliver one connected brand experience.
•    Build alignment around shared objectives while constructively challenging work or processes that compromise customer relevance, brand distinctiveness, or creative quality.
