Your Role
The Senior Manager, Software Development leads the engineering teams that build and support the business process applications that power IntraFi’s financial services. This role combines people leadership with technical direction and end-to-end ownership: developing talent, setting a clear technical roadmap, guiding sound architecture and engineering practices, and delivering reliable solutions that achieve intended business outcomes. You will partner across Application Development, Product, Business, Quality, Security, Infrastructure, and offshore teams to modernize systems, manage delivery risks, and strengthen the organization’s technology capabilities.
Your Team
Business Process development is led by a Director and three managers: this role (Senior Manager, Software Development), a QA Manager, and a BA Manager. Together, this management team collaboratively lead five scrum teams, three onshore and two primarily offshore. In this role, you will directly manage approximately 10 full-time IntraFi employees, primarily engineers spread across the three onshore scrum teams, including a DevOps engineer who supports build, release, and environment needs for all five teams. You will also provide development leadership and technical direction for the developers on the two offshore scrum teams, partnering closely with the rest of the management team on planning, delivery, and team health.
Your Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and technical staff across experience levels. Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, conduct performance reviews, support career growth, and build an engaged, accountable team.
Identify and develop future technical leads and managers, creating growth paths and reducing reliance on any single individual for key technical decisions.
Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard team members; help new employees become productive and connected to the organization.
Partner with the QA and BA Managers to lead the five onshore and offshore scrum teams as one organization: set consistent development standards, coordinate work and dependencies across time zones, and ensure offshore developers have the context, direction, and support to deliver.
Define and communicate a technical roadmap for the business process applications, working with architecture and other technology leads to keep platforms aligned and consistent across IntraFi.
Guide the architecture and technical design of Java enterprise applications and business process platforms, translating complex requirements into maintainable solutions and clear implementation plans. Drive technical decisions through collaboration, bringing proposals to technical leads and building consensus.
Maintain visibility into all in-flight work and key technical decisions. Ensure teams document architecture and decisions, and provide senior leadership with concise status, risks, and recommendations.
Own delivery outcomes end to end, from design through production. Take the lead on production incidents as appropriate, coordinate the team’s response, and keep stakeholders informed through resolution.
Develop a working understanding of IntraFi’s products and business processes, and connect technical work to business outcomes. Partner with business and product stakeholders to shape scope, priorities, milestones, and measurable outcomes, communicating progress, decisions, dependencies, and risks early and clearly.
Plan work and allocate people and resources across onshore and offshore teams, balancing delivery commitments, operational needs, team capacity, and company priorities.
Promote strong engineering practices for code quality, testing, relational data design, SQL performance, data integrity, and security.
Partner with the team’s DevOps engineer and with Quality, Infrastructure, and Operations on build and release, environments, monitoring, production readiness, and continuous improvement.
Identify and reduce delivery, security, regulatory, and operational risks. Ensure team practices align with company policies, applicable requirements, and secure development expectations.
Define and lead the team’s approach to AI-assisted development, including human-in-the-loop review and quality standards equivalent to manually developed code, and drive consistent adoption across onshore and offshore teams.
Build technical cohesion through design reviews, shared standards, cross-team learning, and collaboration that reduces duplication and supports consistent architecture.
Represent the development team with senior leaders, customers, vendors, and internal partners; contribute to resource and budget planning and identify opportunities to use tools and people effectively.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant software development experience, including at least 5 years managing software development teams.
Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing software professionals, including setting expectations, giving feedback, delegating work, supporting performance and career development, and developing team members into technical leads or managers.
Experience leading distributed or offshore development teams, including coordinating work across time zones and vendor partners.
Strong experience with enterprise software development and the ability to guide technical design and implementation across a development team; Java and complex workflow, rules-driven, or transaction-processing systems are highly relevant.
