Volunteer Opiate Team Support

It’s often overwhelming for the people we support to make changes in their lives.

 

You can help by donating your time as a Volunteer Mentor in the Opiate Team.

Responsibilities

With this role you’ll be working as part of the Opiate Team, based in Camden.

The team supports people who need support for drug and alcohol problems, more specifically for opaite dependence. 

We are looking for someone who has lived experience of substance use, preferably the use of opiates and opiate substitute treatment.

In this role you will be supporting the people who use our services by offering them one-to-one support, and supporting the team with adminstirive tasks.

Whether you’re talking about goals in a coffee shop, or researching job opportunities together in a library no two sessions will be the same. We treat everyone as individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Helping people to take that next step can be a challenge, so in return for your time we will offer you comprehensive training and will ensure that you have someone at the other end of the phone for day-to-day advice and guidance. We will also make sure you have a named supervisor, who you will meet up with regularly.

By volunteering with us you will  gain valuable experience and skills, as well as making a real difference.
