You can help by donating your time as a Volunteer Mentor in the Hostel In-reach Team.

Responsibilities

With this role you’ll be working as part of the Hostel In-reach team, based in Camden.

We are looking for someone who has lived experience of substance use and experience of homelessness and/or living in hostel environment.

The team supports people who need support with drug and alcohol problems, and are living in hostels in Camden.

In this role you will be supporting the people who use our services by offering them one-to-one support in the community, and supporting the team with co-facilitiating activities for serivce users.

Whether you’re talking about goals in a coffee shop, or researching job opportunities together in a library no two sessions will be the same. We treat everyone as individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Helping people to take that next step can be a challenge, so in return for your time we will offer you comprehensive training and will ensure that you have someone at the other end of the phone for day-to-day advice and guidance. We will also make sure you have a named supervisor, who you will meet up with regularly.

By volunteering with us you will  gain valuable experience and skills, as well as making a real difference.
