Company Overview

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.

Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a Production Control Associate to play a key role in the San Carlos powertrain factory’s warehouse. The Production Control Associate sets the rhythm of Powertrain’s material flow with timely put-aways, kanban replenishments, kit building, and R&D transfers. Digitally, our Production Control Associates maintain inventory accuracy, discrepancy resolutions, cycle counts, and end-of-month reconciliations. The role works closely with Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Quality teams to achieve production schedules and uphold best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely put-aways of received material to the correct warehouse locations, transacting each move accurately in the ERP

  • Replenish production lines through the kanban system to ensure production technicians consistently have the material they need to succeed

  • Build material kits on schedule, verifying part numbers, revisions, and quantities against the BOM

  • Process R&D material transfers, ensuring proper documentation and traceability

  • Maintain inventory accuracy by executing cycle counts, investigating variances, and correcting records

  • Partnering with Planning, prioritize and expedite constrained or critical parts to ensure the build schedule

  • Partnering with Purchasing, Planning, and Quality, research and resolve inventory discrepancies such as quantity mismatches, location errors, and unreceived or mistransacted parts

  • Partnering with Quality, segregate, tag, and move controlled, quarantined, or nonconforming material

  • Facing the entire cross-functional team, communicate clearly and deliver a high standard of internal customer service

  • Support month-end close by completing all transactions and resolving open discrepancies

  • Support and comply with the company’s safety protocols

  • Identify and drive improvements to safety, material flow, warehouse organization, inventory processes, and 4S+S/5S

  • Train new associates on warehouse procedures both physically and digitally

Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • 3+ years of related experience in warehouse, distribution, or material control

  • Proven collaborative work ethic and strong ability to build cross-functional relationships

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field

  • Physical strength and stamina sufficient to lift 50 pounds occasionally

  • Proficiency in ERP, WMS, and/or MES software

  • Strong understanding of supply chain best practices

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices

  • Experience operating heavy warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, electric pallet jack)
