Position Summary

The Body, Chassis, and Interior (BCI) Quality Team is seeking a Vehicle Quality Analyst to take ownership of vehicle quality performance throughout the product development, industrialization, and launch phases. This role is responsible for independently managing quality deliverables, evaluating product and manufacturing risks, driving issue resolution strategies, and ensuring alignment with established quality objectives and production launch milestones.

The position requires the ability to independently assess geometric quality performance, establish priorities, coordinate cross-functional resources, and drive corrective actions across engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and vehicle assembly teams.

The successful candidate will serve as a key quality representative, providing technical recommendations, monitoring program performance, and ensuring the successful transition of vehicle programs into stable, high-quality volume production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and oversee geometric quality activities for assigned vehicle programs, ensuring product design, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements meet established quality standards.

  • Establish and manage geometric quality monitoring strategies, including the development and implementation of measurement plans and Quality Assurance Fixture management.

  • Lead quality convergence activities throughout the industrialization and pre-production phases, identifying potential risks and driving corrective actions before volume production.

  • Evaluate dimensional measurement data, identify trends, assess product conformity, and determine appropriate corrective action priorities.

  • Own the identification, assessment, prioritization, and resolution of component and vehicle assembly quality concerns, particularly related to Interior and Exterior fit and finish.

  • Develop and manage comprehensive issue-resolution plans, assign action owners, establish timelines, and monitor progress to ensure timely closure.

  • Analyze complex quality concerns involving product design, component dimensional variation, tooling, manufacturing processes, and vehicle assembly.

  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluating quality risks and recommending technical solutions, process improvements, and corrective actions.

  • Establish and monitor quality performance indicators, ensuring alignment with BCI program objectives and key performance metrics.

  • Lead cross-functional quality coordination with HMI, Corporate Quality, Supplier Quality, Perceived Quality, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

  • Manage quality-related launch deliverables and monitor program readiness, identifying potential delays or risks that could impact production milestones.

  • Prepare and present quality performance assessments, technical findings, risk evaluations, and corrective action recommendations to program leadership and management.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on dimensional accuracy, manufacturing consistency, defect prevention, and overall vehicle quality.

  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders on geometric quality requirements, measurement strategies, and defect resolution.

  • Monitor escalation activities and ensure critical quality concerns receive appropriate management attention and timely resolution.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline such as Materials, Chemical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

  • 0–3 years of experience in automotive Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, or Product Quality.

  • Understanding of APQP, PPAP, and Supplier Quality Manual requirements.

  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis, metrology principles, measurement systems, and process control methodologies.

  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.

  • Understanding of automotive vehicle design, component dimensional requirements, assembly processes, and manufacturing controls.

  • Knowledge of tooling, production processes, geometric validation, and dimensional inspection techniques.

  • Ability to independently evaluate technical issues, assess quality risks, and develop effective corrective action strategies.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional discussions, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability for issue resolution.

  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to develop structured action plans, establish priorities, monitor execution, and ensure timely closure of quality concerns.

  • Self-motivated professional capable of working independently, exercising sound judgment, and meeting critical program deadlines.
